Game Over: It’s not worth it | James Parry Although years of discounts and loopholes have made me reluctant to fork out for the current full price for Game Pass, the new price tag is still one I’d be willing to pay, especially with the likes of Starfield and an overhauled Flight Simulator on the way.Īs long as it remains under £15 a month, and the extra money contributes to more top-tier games being added to the service, I still think it’s worth it. In terms of the Game Pass Ultimate price rise, we always knew it was coming at some point. If I didn’t have Ultimate, it would probably be the level I’d go for, depending on how often and what kind of games are rotated into the current list. Game Pass Core actually looks like a pretty good offering considering the now defunct Games with Gold it’s replacing had been slowly becoming ever more obsolete as time went by. My current Game Pass Ultimate subscription is all paid up until late 2025 thanks to the conversion offer/loophole that Xbox are yet to close, so the new price rises won’t affect me for the time being.īut to be honest, I don’t think the increase is all that bad.
